Thank you
Hello, I wanted to begin by saying thank you to all who have supported me in this next season of life. Whether through prayer, encouragement, or financial support, I am deeply thankful. This Thailand missions update is a reflection of your impact and God’s faithfulness.
I arrived in Pattaya on June 13th, and adjusting has been smooth. The people, staff, and students have been kind and patient as I learn their names and embrace the culture. Here in Thailand, the staff and students have given me the nickname Su-Su, which means “fight”—because we are here to fight together for freedom, hope, and restoration.
Staff
This Thailand missions update wouldn’t be complete without introducing some of the incredible team. Several staff members help run Shear Love International. Dianna (on the left) is the founder of Shear Love. In the middle is Julia, who is serving with Pioneer’s missions organization for the next two months. She also has a heart for helping those impacted by human trafficking.
Teaching
This year, the program has 9 students. Alongside English, students at Shear Love are also learning budgeting, Bible, and discipleship. I have the joy of co-teaching with Megan, a missionary who has faithfully served in Thailand for nine years. It’s a privilege to be part of this Thailand missions update from inside the classroom—where transformation begins with education and truth.
Church
In Thailand, church gatherings are held on Saturday mornings. In the image, you’ll see P-Sam (Megan’s husband) and Pastor Gideon. I will be attending ‘Baan Ruem Jai’ as my home church for the year. It means “Our Hearts United in this Home.” I’ll be serving in the children’s ministry, continuing to witness the beauty of this Thailand missions update unfold in the local body of Christ.
Praise & Prayer
Physical Protection – I’ve found an apartment! However, nights can be difficult due to nearby tourist activity.
New Believers – Two students have left the Buddhist faith and given their lives to Christ. Pray they come to fully know God’s love and purpose for them.
Spiritual Strength – Thailand is predominantly Buddhist, and each day offers new opportunities for light to shine in dark places.
This Thailand missions update is only the beginning. Thank you again for walking alongside me.
With Gratitude,
Zuleima Chavez
