In the month of October, our beloved beauty teacher was called to be with the Lord. She had been a mother, teacher, and mentor to many of our students. Her loss left a deep impact on our team, but we remain grateful for her legacy. As part of this ShearLove missions update, we’re also sharing that a new beauty teacher has stepped in to lead the program for the remainder of the school year.

Unfortunately, in November, two more of our beauty students decided to leave the program. Our youngest student returned to her village in Northern Thailand, while the other felt led to pursue work in the city. We believe that during their months at ShearLove, seeds were planted—and that in God’s perfect timing, they’ll come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Christmas

In December, ShearLove received a generous donation that allowed the staff to go on a retreat. As part of this ShearLove missions update, we’re thankful to report that the retreat brought deep rest, prayer, and reflection. We gathered in a national forest to share goals and cast vision for 2025, immersed in God’s creation and reminded of His sustaining grace.

Graduation is Approaching

The Beauty Program currently has 3 beauty students and 3 barber students remaining. They continue to serve the local community—offering haircuts in the afternoon while learning English, finance, and Bible during the day. Graduation is scheduled for March 27, 2025, and I can’t wait to share more about the graduating class and staff of 2024–2025 in a future ShearLove missions update.

Teams Serving at ShearLove

A small group gathered in prayer, hands resting gently in support, symbolizing unity and spiritual care within the ShearLove community.

Earlier this month, we welcomed a missions team from Crossroads Church in Corona, California. Their joy and love for every staff and student at ShearLove were truly a gift. It was especially meaningful for me since they came from Southern California. Together, we prayed over Pattaya and our home churches back in the States—another beautiful highlight of this ShearLove missions update.

Prayer and Praise

  • Pray for our students to finish well and to trust the Lord as they seek work after graduation.

  • We will be hosting another missions team in February from Northern California—please pray for strength, unity, and fruitful ministry during their time with us.

  • I will be returning home on April 17th but am praying for the opportunity to continue with ShearLove for another year. Please keep me in prayer for peace, provision, and clear direction.

Lastly, in November, I fractured my foot after a night of ministry. Thanks to your support, I was able to receive care without financial burden. I’m healing well and walking again—praise God!

Thank you for following along with this ShearLove missions update. Your prayers and partnership make every step possible.
