Made New

This school year we began with 9 students, but in July, two chose to leave. We are now halfway through the program, and it’s been a powerful season of transformation. Back in August, 3 of our students gave their lives to Christ, and earlier this month we witnessed something beautiful—student baptisms in Thailand. We traveled to the coast to see those same students publicly declare their faith.

It has been a joy to walk with them, watching them grow in their understanding of the gospel and in personal discipleship. When the year began, only two of our students had ever heard the name of Jesus. Their entire lives had been rooted in Buddhism, but now they are discovering hope, purpose, and new life in Christ. These student baptisms in Thailand represent more than a moment—they reflect eternity being written in real time.

Prayer Request

Our students at Shear Love are each provided with a Bible and other tools needed for the school year. The Bible in the image belongs to one of my favorite students. She’s attending the program faithfully, but she hasn’t yet come to trust in the Lord. Each Monday during chapel, she listens closely. One of her recurring questions is: “Why does God allow suffering to happen?”

When we guide her back to scripture and the heart of Father God, she nods, though she’s not quite ready to agree. As we continue walking with her, my prayer remains rooted in Joel 2:25–26:

“I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.”

As we celebrate recent student baptisms in Thailand, we continue to believe in God's power to restore what’s been lost—even in the lives still questioning, still waiting.

With Gratitude,
